At Erdfa Company, we are dedicated to creating custom furniture that brings comfort and functionality to everyone's homes. We apply this same philosophy to our online presence. We are committed to ensuring digital accessibility of our website for people with disabilities, continuously improving the user experience and applying relevant accessibility standards.

2. Standards and Compliance

The www.erdfa.ro website is built using the Wix platform, which provides us with tools to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines define how web content (text, images, forms) must be presented in order to be accessible to people with various disabilities (visual, motor, cognitive).

3. Implemented Accessibility Features

On our presentation and portfolio website, we have taken the following measures:

  • Alternative Text (Alt Text): We are working on adding text descriptions for images in our galleries (Kitchen, Living Room, Bedroom, Office) so that visitors using screen readers can understand the type and style of furniture presented.

  • Keyboard Navigation: The site allows basic navigation using the keyboard (TAB key) without requiring a mouse, facilitating access to the main menu and contact forms.

  • Contrast and Readability: We have chosen colors and fonts that ensure sufficient contrast between text and background for easy reading.

  • Accessible Forms: The form on the "Contact" page is properly labeled so it can be easily completed using assistive technologies.

  • Logical Structure: We use hierarchical headings (H1, H2, etc.) to structure pages (e.g., "About Us", "Useful Information" sections), aiding in quick navigation.

4. Known Limitations and Workarounds

Although we strive to achieve a high level of accessibility, we are aware of certain limitations of the current site:

  • Image Descriptions: Being a site with a rich visual portfolio (many photos of custom furniture), it is possible that some older images may not yet have complete alternative text. We are committed to remedying this as we update the portfolio.

  • PDF Documents: If there are downloadable technical sheets or catalogs, these might not be fully optimized for screen readers.
